Prescription Only
BIOPAD™ Collagen Dressing is 100% native equine Type 1 collagen that can accelerate the closure of hard-to-heal wounds. Contains 5 times the standard amount of collagen, and no fillers.
BIOPAD™ does not break down as quickly as other collagen dressings, donating more collagen to the wound site, and can be left in place longer. This high-quality 100% pure collagen allows some of the content to be sacrificed to feed MMPs and elastase while still being able to stimulate the proliferation of fibroblasts and formation of granulation tissue.
Precautions/Contraindications
Prescription use only. Do not use in patients with known family history of autoimmune diseases, history of anaphylactoid reactions or known hypersensitivity to collagen, both topical and injectable, or in subjects undergoing desensitization therapy to meat products.
Indications and features
It is indicated for partial- and full-thickness wounds, such as pressure injuries, venous insufficiency ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical and traumatic wounds, and donor sites.
- Conforms readily to wound
- Usable on infected wounds
- Cost effective (fewer dressing changes)
- Compatible with topicals
- Cuttable
- Flexible
- Moldable
Directions
Apply BIOPAD™ directly to the cleansed wound, removing purulent or necrotic tissue. Use enough to completely cover the wound bed.
For dry wounds, hydrate BIOPAD™ to initiate the gelling process. Secure BIOPAD™ with a secondary Comfort Release® dressing included in this bundle.
Remove and change as needed depending on drainage and provider's orders. The gel that is formed by interaction with the wound exudate is biodegradable and does not need to be removed at each dressing change.
Comfort Release® Transparent Dressings are designed for a painfully unmet need. Existing products for vulnerable skin often sacrifice adhesive strength for easier removal.
Comfort Release® is patented with a unique polymer that allows for secure adhesion to the skin when it is needed. However, a simple swipe with rubbing alcohol triggers the adhesive to release, so you can remove the dressing painlessly and trauma-free.
Features
- Easy to apply
- Highly breathable (MVTR >5000)
- Water-proof transparent window
- Triggered painless release
- Eliminates skin injuries when properly removed
- Strong acrylic adhesive skin bonding
- May be left in place for 3 days, up to 7 days
- Not made with natural rubber latex
DIRECTIONS
For strong skin bonding apply to clean dry skin, free of soap residue, lotions, or oils.
Peel the release paper. Apply the dressing over the skin and gently press down on the dressing.
To remove: Simply wet the dry dressing border with rubbing alcohol. Use alcohol prep pads until sufficiently wet, then wait a few seconds until the dressing releases painlessly. The clear window film can be removed without discomfort due to its low skin bond.
WARNING
Seek professional help for medical emergencies. Consult a physician for deep or penetrating wounds. If irritation or redness develops or persists, discontinue use, and consult a physician.
People with prior skin reactions to acrylic adhesives, skin burns, or allergic reactions to rubbing alcohol should not use Comfort Release®.
